Affiliate & Advertising Disclosure
How Vernista makes money, and how we label it.
Vernista is funded partly by commerce. Here is exactly how, and how you can tell which is which.
Affiliate links
Some links to products are affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission from the retailer. It never costs you anything extra, and the price you pay is the same as it would be otherwise.
Affiliate links do not decide what we recommend. We do not accept commission arrangements that require positive coverage, and we remove products from our recommendations when they stop being the best answer, commission or no commission.
Gifted products and press samples
Brands send us products to test. Accepting a sample is not a promise of coverage, a positive review, or coverage by any particular date. Where an article is based on a gifted product, we say so in the article.
Sponsored content
Occasionally a brand pays for an article. When that happens it is labelled clearly at the top as sponsored, paid, or in partnership with that brand. Sponsored articles are written to our editorial standards, and a sponsor never gets approval over our verdict on their competitors.
Advertising
Display advertising on Vernista is sold separately from editorial and has no influence on what we publish.
How to tell
If an article contains affiliate links, involves gifted products, or is sponsored, it says so — near the top, not buried at the bottom. If you ever find something that looks commercial and is not labelled, please tell us at [EMAIL: corrections@vernista.com].
